Jacqueline’s Cuban heritage inspires this collection; her grandmother’s deeply personal stories of loss, exile and eventual redemption set the tone for the bittersweet duality of these pieces. These pieces are an homage, not only to her grandmother, but to the countless others who have shared in the bitter loss of leaving all behind in their homeland and building a new life in a new land.
